I know this is the Bluegill section but every now and then I post a few fish that I also like to target. I consider this section my home section and love to share the catches and reports with my fellow "Gill Busters".

Today I had the chance to fish with my brother Tom and his very good friend Delton who lives in Columbus Texas. We were fishing with another super friend and Pro Guide Cliff Hill and the target for today was some Calaveras Cats. Boy did we find em. We fished from 7:30 A.M. Till 2:30 P.M. and limited out with 75 very nice Channel Cats. The bite started out slow but picked up. We really had to work for em but it was a blast. All fish were caught on Big Marvs catfish bait in 3 to 5 feet of water. Both float and bottom techniques were used. Needless to say there will be several fish fries coming soon. Monday fishing with family and good friends. It just don't get any better.

Dang Banker, you guys whacked em! I have no issues with you sharing ALL your fishing adventures here. Enjoy the fillets.

Thanks "13;MWZ" and Mark for the replies. Cally is one heck of a Catfish lake. Also as seen on prior postings it is also one heck of a Bluegill lake. Mark: You should know we did not go eat after fishing. We were just plane to tired. Ended up taking my son to Taco Cabana early that evening after a very nice nap.



Side Note: Seems that the fish are super active after all of the recent rain. Lots of fresh water has em very frisky.

Great job on the fishing. Cliff is a great person as well as a guide, my daughter still talks about the time we went fishing with him. I hope he is as sucessfull with his new crappie venture as he is with cats, that would be a perfect night for me.Hopefully soon.
