Well, that's what a GA newspaper said, and the photo suuuuure looks like it. Ain't this cool!!! (Btw, covered in the daily BassBlaster email today and NOWHERE else! Sign up here.)

From the BassBlaster:

...recently found in a Florida barn and e-mailed to GA author Bill Baab, author of the book Remembering George W. Perry.

> The person who e-mailed Baab the photo identified himself as a descendent of a man who was Perrys companion the day the famous fish was landed.

> The e-mail, Baab said, disclosed that the image was found in a barn the family owned in Florida. But the sender declined to answer further questions.

There are pics of George Perry out there. I've seen em and that ain't him. That's probably the trophy Ma and Pa Kettle caught!

Wasn't there a photo with a man in the same clothes on with a big fish standing next to a kid? It was supposed to be of the world record, but no one knew who the man in the photo was.

I would think Baab, being an authority on Perry's fish, would know if that wasn't Perry in the phtot, but who knows.

Interesting Lnk

Everything about that "record" is a fairy tail IMO. Japan owns the LMB record.

I am curious to why someone would stand in the water to take a picture. That seems strange to me.
