I'm very interested in night time bass fishing. I've always heard about it but never have hit it like the morning and evening bite. Any advice would be appreciated.

I will try that, I've also heard 3 days before and after the full phase. Does thus sound about right. Just wondering if top water chugs and buzzers work good. That would be fun.

I night fished in northwest Louisiana. I had the best luck when there was no moon. Your eyes get used to the dark. I didn't use any lights unless another boat came around which doesn't happen very often at 2 or 3 A.M. I used an amber light inside the boat. It seemed like white light turned the fish off. I caught most of the fish from midnight till dawn. I used 1/2 oz. spinner baits. Black and purple worked well but I've also caught them on white. It's a heck of a feeling to hook a 6 or 7 lb'er at night with no lights. Good Luck !!

Be careful on Fork. When you bend down to lip your fish there might be a gator lurking.

Same exact baits u use during the day will catch fish at night. I live near canyon lake where in the summer the night bite is better than day bite probably due to the clarity of the water and also canyon is more of a recreational lake. I use the same soft plastics that I use during the day, but also use a topwater a lot. I use a popper but like Donald Harper says a black jitternug is also a good choice. I also fish shallow water but heck I do that during the day as well.

I agree with the above. Use what you is during the day. I love a weightless fluke, a slow-rolled chatterbait, cranks, wake bait, top water of any kind, big soft plastics.

I throw a spook during the day. Early morning and all day if it is cloudy. In the Spring I will throw it when the sun is shinning. Two different tournaments on Amistad and the water doesn't get any clearer than that; we started on practice days way before daylight. I had the big Bass located the week before and just wanted to check them and had several places to go in less than an hour each morning to decide where we would start on tournament day. Starting in the dark did not work; no bits at all what so ever, zero. My partner did not want to go back to those spots that we checked in the dark because we didn't get bit. I knew the Bass were there and I had been the one down there for over a week to find them. We went back to the spot and tied up caught a couple on black bladed spinner baits before day light. Then when day break came we loaded the boat. This has happened more than once. I fish in Mexico and throw a spook in the early morning and you are throwing to plenty of Bass. It is the best place in the world to find out what the best baits are really quick. They will not take the spook in the dark. They will take that Black Jitterbug 100%. They will take the Black Blade Spinner Bait, but not the Spook. When day breaks you can throw all that other stuff in the lake. You better be throwing the Spook.

I've caught plenty of bass at night on a spook, sometimes they want it sometimes they don't.
I prefer a buzzbait or pop-r in the dark, but sometimes a spook or even a frog in open water does the trick.
Throw it all and see what they want that day, night etc!!!
