If you read the ticket closely it says the ticket will be dismissed IF you purchase an annual launch pass. It's a total scam! The office that handles the tickets is at the campground down Dooley . Just call the number on the ticket and give them your stub number and they will have the matching envelope and they will dismiss. Their hope however, is that you don't call and either purchase the pass or pay the fine

So why haven't a group of you gotten together and gone to the city council or the COE about this, especially if you are a GV resident? If you squeak loud enough, eventually you will get some grease. I am sure they don't want bad pub that can result from going to the masses about this.

Maybe they need the money to clean out the dumpster..it smells like someone died there for over 2 weeks now..on a side note: I buy a pass..I'm in to big of a hurry for the pay stop!

Most everyone has a video cam of some kind now days. Take a quick video of your rig before you leave with a up close view of reciept. Maybe even leave note saying you did it for all to see.

Just called the court , they said call parks and recks , then i called them she is willing to help , but I. Can't just run back down there! U got cops writing tickets, parks and rec handling the calls , and some other people collecting the money , so there is really no way to verify that u payed , eaven with stub and number, will they throw u in jail if u just don't pay it? Sure is a lot of hassle of 5 bucks that I payed.

It's a total scam! Mark hit it on the head! I would bet it's the SAME old couple doing it literally for years!

Then you go down there for Scam Part II, they talk about ticket fine, versus ANNUAL PASS cost. Yep, they must be starting the new summer fund.

We had that happen a few years back on Grapevine, everyone in the club got a ticket, called and they did dismiss them but we all decided to many other good lakes, no more Grapevine.

I would contact the mayor of Grapevine and see what he has to say about it. Obviously this sounds like a problem and harassment.

Sounds more like a revenue generating scam than anything.

After one time of this mess, I just gave up on fishing the lake...the headache is not worth it. That was over four years ago

From the past......I know folks that used to collect money from these boxes. We have laughed about how many times envelopes are filled out exactly correct BUT no/less money was enclosed.
In a hurry, drinkin already, don't care???..people being people.
The safe solution for G vine residents is the Pass OR just write a check, never do cash.

Folks in G'vine pay a small fortune in taxes, everything in Gvine is more expensive, more tax revenue in every way

I fish Grapevine most of the time but fortunately launch on the north side since I live in Flower Mound. I have an annual pass for Twin Coves and launch at Murrell as well. If I lived in Grapevine I would certainly buy the annual pass as it is the cheapest way to go if you fish there many times at all.
