Hi All,
My name is Al and I'm fairly new to the site. I'm currently living in the Lewisville/Carrollton area. There's a lot of good information here that I've read so far. I'm finding myself on here for hours at a time!
It's been several years since I've fished in the Port A/Rockport area. I'm planning on fishing the area June 13-15 and am wondering where I can go to find good consistent trout fishing. I'm not too concerned about size (although I'd like to find a few keepers) but I'd like to find numbers to keep us in the action.
Any Suggestions? Thanks!!

I'll be in port a Monday through next sunday. I will be hitting the surf mainly but will let you know if I get into any trout.

Okay, to add to my previous question, if I were to explore the possibility of wade fishing while in the Port A / Rockport area, where is a good place to try that out?

From one of my earlier posts; Starting point 50 yards south of where the pylons end. You can drive down the beach until you see birds or bait. You should be able to get some nice trout in the surf first light to about 10am. Tips: Piggy perch are best but live shrimp will work. With piggys you will catch bigger trout and maybe a red. With live shrimp you will catch trout, maybe a red and lots of whiting and skipjacks. Free line your bait using a barrel swivel and a leader and change your bait often. Cast INTO the current (usually into the wind)! Let it run JUST past you and cast again. Start at the 1st gut then move to the second if you strike out. Watch out for sting rays and shuffle your feet.

KQT: I'll be fishing with relatively light tackle, 6 1/2 ft spinning combo with 12 lb mono. Is this sufficient or will a heavier set up be required?
