I want to install a 30 amp outlet for my popup and a a 110 outlet on the side of my house. My main breaker box is outside the house, I have a sub pannel in the gradge. The distance from the main pannel is roughly 100feet to where I want the outlets. My plan is to run the wire myself, buried in the ground inside conduit. What size wire would I need? I'm going to hire someone to make the connections to the box, only because I have never inside one before and don't want to screw something up. My question is what size wire would I need and is there anything wrong with this plan? I would guess 10 or 8 gauge for the 30amp run.

#6 to do it right. #8 is undersized for 100ft.

I checked this on 3 different charts. They all say 6ga wire for a 100 ft run.

National electric code requires a MINIMUM of #10 awg for a 30amp circuit. As a 20 year licensed electrician, I would use #8. Mainly because I'm pretty anal about what I do at my house as far as upgrades and additions go. Voltage drop won't come into play at 100 feet.
