Dont know if I am describing the part right , but it is the part that has the 2 stems/ rods that push the motor up , well it is leaking I think it is the gaskets or orings that seal the push rod/ stems . I don't know if I can fix it myself or if someone here knows someone that can fix it rather inexpensive. It is an older skeeter ( 2000 ) . If someone can help please et me know. Thanks

Its the seals in your rams. They can be tricky. Ive had mine replaced at plano marine in longview for 300$. It requires for a special tool that goes over your ram (rods) that fits in them little holes at the base. Its a pricey tool too. But If your replacing just the lower ones you might want to have your top one done to because Its a matter of time before it starts leaking fluid. But if your into tackleing your own projects im sure it can be done with a little homework & time.

I will use him again for any repairs, Great fellow Grimes Boat Repair Joe Don Grimes Shop # 817-297-2050 Cell 817-521-5960 He is located off of 1902 west of crowley

It is something you can do yourself. Remove the hydraulic ram and take it down to a shop to loosen the caps for you. I took mine down and they loosned them for free. The o-rings can be found just about anywhere. Buy some oil to replace what came out. Reinstall the hydraulic ram. Not worth 300 dollars. Takes 20 minutes to do all 3 tops. Good luck what ever way you go.

The trim cylinders don't come off, only the tilt. How did you tighten the caps back up? The seals have a wiper that fits in the groove with the pistons "O"rings. Don't try this.

The wiper is not the seal the o-ring is in a groove below the wiper. It's easier to remove hydraulic unit from boat. Lift motor, block motor, remove pins. Take back to shop and have them tighten caps. I made a tool to tighten mine. Now I have a tool to remove and install caps. The cap remover tool is expensive to buy. If someone does not feel comfortable doing it themselves, take it in! I'm just suggesting an option. Good luck.
