I have yet to fish these. I fish the SK 2.5 baits every trip and break the bills quite often. I figured, by the time I buy the SK, change the hooks out and break at least one every trip that it might be worth the extra money up front to just upgrade. How so the bills hold up and how are the stock hooks?
Thanks!

I've fished them for yrs. and have yet to break one. Their hooks are awesome! They are very sharp and strong! They do not have rattles and flat out catch bass. I've caught many 7-10Lbs with them! I think they are second to none. Try the Fat CB BDS4. Good luck.

Save your broke cranks. Strike king customer is top notch. They will send you new squarebills and a few extras if you are nice about it and tell them what happened. All I throw is sk crankbaits, they catch fish they're not overpriced and customer service like that's hard to find. I've thrown the lucky crafts and yes they're nice but I have stow aways full of strike king cranks and for the price I would have only a few lucky craft baits.

i have a hard time spending that much money on a lure i beat up as much as a square bill. i break or lose a couple a trip. even though they are designed not to hang up they do. i have started using 6th sense as well as my SK's. The 6th sense has VMCs stock and awesome paint jobs.

The 6th sense has VMCs stock and awesome paint jobs. I don't have issues loosing them (often). I've found that if you don't dig the bait into what ever it's caught in and use the rubber-band snap trick, I get almost all of them untangled. I've wanted to try out the 6th sense also. I don't mind spending the money if it's worth it!

I've learned the hard way(by breaking off very large bass) to not fish sq bills on anything but braid. You are throwing for a reaction bite, and where they should be thrown, the likelihood of getting hung up is high. I catch just as many, if not more fish and don't worry about losing the fish or my crank. I even fish them on braid at Amistad(super clear water) and have had 100 fish sq bill days there! I've fish my LC cranks in same boat as partners using other brands and have NEVER been out-fished. I truly believe this is due to the action/quality of the Lucky Crafts. They always either borrow or buy LCs for themselves after they see the difference firsthand.

I failed to mention that I've never had a Lucky Craft sq bill break. I also fish them from late winter to late fall...meaning that they get cast 1,000s of times over the course of a fishing year. I'm sure there are other great cranks out there. I've tried many, but LCs are my favorite and one of my main confidence baits

Loved their RC series w/ BPS, especially the blue bream color. Have yet to give the RTO its paces, however.

I've narrowed my color selection down to only one...the #287 chartreuse/light blue. Especially after it gets worn and faded. It is awesome in all water colors.

Blue-Truse, Candy Citrus, and Live Baby Bluegill in particular. Those colors ROCK on Conroe... Also, I know (6th Sense) has a place in Conroe now, is there a store? Thanks, Cole.

Lucky craft square bills are IMO outstanding. Great hooks, colors, very durable, have caught numbers of big to giant bass on one bait. Expensive but can be retrieved easily if hung. Agree about the fat bds4. The other companies make great baits as well I would assume, but I just have great experiences with lucky craft square bills, and lipless cranks.
