Today I had Jeff and Peggy Senn out for a mid day hybrid catchin' trip! On the last 3 outings Jeff has wanted a hybrid 25"'s. Each trip I came up short for him. Something about that 24" mark that is hard to top. So, I called him up a a few weeks back and told him I was on some HUGE fish and he needed to get down here. Today was the THE DAY! We had lots of hybrids today but all were 22"-24". Peggy nailed a fat 26" fish....but Jeff was left empty handed. So, we made a risky big move to uncharted waters and found the mother load school of big fish in an area I haven't fished lately. While working a sharp ledge Jeff's pole went down and line was stripping fast. I made a double take when about 8 seconds went by and fish was still stedily taking out drag. Quickly I looked at the spool to make sure the Curado had "enough." LOL At one point I thought I was going to have to go "black tip shark" on him and chase him down w/ the trolling motor. I have to hand it to Jeff, he did an excellent job staying calm and keeping steady pressure on the fish. After a good battle, we netted the fish and got him over the side of the boat. Silence. I just stared at it! First thing out of his mouth: "Scales! Tape measure!" Great thing is the fish is back in the lake to be caught another day. She weighed in at 13.8! 28.25" long and 20.5" girth. The previous catch n' release record was 25.5"

That is a pig... And the release is very cool!
Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach
