Looking for some info on props for this motor. I am currently running a 13 1/2 x 25 Renegade prop. I'm doing 55 @ 5000 rpms. No jack plate. Want to install 8" jack plate in future. I like the hole shot but not the top end speed. Any help in this matter would be appreciated.

steve will probably be on to set it straight but with a 200 on a 22' boat and running a 25 4 blade I say your over propped bad.
I tried a renegade 25 on my 96 fast strike 175/210hp at prop and they are not a fast prop by any means.
from what I know johnson/rudes like raker props, not real sure on that hull but that is where I would start.
I am gonna guess a 24 or 26 raker set about 3 1/2" below pad to start.
I have a 26 with large pvs holes also have a spare 24, if ya want to try it, might still be a little much but its a start point.
pm me if interested.

WOT rpm are low. You need to check the motor to make sure it is healthy. Check to make sure you are getting wot, check fuel lines, decarb. You need to be able to hit 5800-5900 at WOT. I would think you could turn a 24 raker or tempest plus if motor is healthy. I never really cared for renegade prop when I used to run OMC.

I use to get better rpms out of this motor until I had a new lower end installed. But the most I've ever gotten out of my motor is around 5600 rpms. That's fully trimmed up. Had prop worked on the same time. No stamp on prop saying they changed pitch though. I'll take a look at lines to carbs and filter at tank. I've gone through the rest. The shop I had my lower end work done said I had the right prop for the motor. Then again a month after I got it back the mounting bolts came loose on lower end.

Did they rebuild your lower unit or put a different one on? Who did the prop work?

The lower unit is new. Insurance claim. The prop was sent out to a local shop, was tuned and polished. This is my second lower end this shop has installed. The first one failed a week after the repair. Sent lower unit back and installed another.

I use to get better rpms out of this motor until I had a new lower end installed. How many different gear case's/gear ratio's are there that fit this motor?

That motor came with 1.87. Some of the later Etec motors have 1.71. Also there are different case shapes as well.
