Some people in Omaha(NE) have caught some of the tagged fish already. It is easier up there though because most of the lakes they put tagged fish in are way smaller than what you have here in Texas.

I caught the tagged bass out of Fork last year....5 days before the contest started. The fish was a healthy under with a bright green tag sticking out of him and that was the first I had heard about the contest. He was released, after spending the night in my live well so that I could stare at him and dream about of what could have been. Now, before the posters go crazy on here. Sure, I probably could have cheated and kept him alive for a week, but it would have been wrong. You better believe I am registered this year, maybe lightning will strike twice. Anyway, I have a million dollar story to tell.... well, almost a million dollars.

I hardly ever fish any of the lakes mentioned unfortunately.
