If yall ever are interested Rockport has a hummingbird festival ever fall. It sounds weird and I thought so at 1st but a very kool event.

Evidently the S. Texas coast is the last stopping place as the hummers as far away as Alaska migrate South for the winter.

Here is a link if you are interested. The wife and I go about every 3 yrs.

Thanks for the heads-up..I love Rockport & would love to live in that area.
We have feeders & when it needs to be refilled...they buzz me...just hang in the air about 5 feet from me & "talk". They also let me know when they get here around April...they are hungry. Beautiful little birds.

Thanks everyone. The key to having a hummingbird nest in your tree must be to never do yard work. So they must like a no traffic tree like my brother's. wink

Cool how they camo them up huh?! I found one this spring while turkey hunting, I just happened to set up under a oak that had one in it.

Google Dan Brown Hummer House. He has the largest concentration of hummers in Texas, nice guy too. Lives on the South Concho River at Christoval. My dad runs some longhorn cattle on his ranch across the hwy from his home place. They have cabins for rent and an observation room. You can literally see 30-50 hummers all at one time.
