I never noticed a fire extinguisher on a jet ski.

I have intentionally casted at them. For the most part Im thankful that the lakes I fish don't have a lot of pleasure boat traffic! Also some of the smaller lakes I frequent don't allow personal water craft!

Nice fish! BTW, the jet skiers have yet to get a monopoly on incosiderate. I see plenty of clueless bass, catfish, crappie, Ect boaters.

Haha, i agree with all the above. With that i said i have a couple of jet skis and am very respectful to everyone on the lake. Its just the idiots that ruin it for everyone and that goes both ways too. yea ive seen some idiots driving bass boats too, no respect for anyone just cutting people off, pulling in infront them when they are clearly fising a stretch of bank.

Was fishing last night in Texoma. Found a crappie hotspot. Was catching em pretty good including the 16 inch guy below when a jet ski zooms in off the the lake into out shallow area. We are waving him off, as we are fishing and in a small boat. He just does a big doughnut in front of us and yells "you don't own the "expletive deleted" lake. These guys will ruin it for everyone. The day will come when we'll have the same rules on the lake as the road. Speeding, reckless boating, turn signals, stop lights and cameras to make sure you get the ticket. Put about a two ounce snagging jing on and wing it at em.

I have both boats, wake board and fishing and I've seen the disrespect from all types but the jet fleas are the worst I've experienced. I was fortunate to be educated by my FIL for years before I bought my boats. I try to keep a cool head but I've been known to twist on anyone that is being unsafe, especially around my family. Texoma on the Memorial Day weekend was entertaining, shoulda stuck to my rule of thumb and not go on holiday weekends. Requiring TPWD boater safety doesn't necessarily mean it will make a difference. Nice fish, going tomorrow after shift and hope to get a few for the freezer.

I'm with you there. Have you ever noticed how jetskiers seem to have a childish need for an audience? Even when they have the entire lake, they almost inevitably find an anchored or drifting fishing boat (or a stretch of shoreline with bank fishermen) to show off in front of, as though we're all supposed to be impressed with their antics.

At my stage of development, it struck me as a redundant statement,....(jet ski idiots),....
Need to improve my LMB fishing, running out of time.

People get exponentially dumber the closer their proximity to a Jet Ski. A few years ago, we were harrased by a kid that was spraying us on one- driving right at us then turning at the last second. He knew he could out run us and so did I so I took a little different approach. Tied some nylon anchor line to a throwable cushion and launched it downwind while he wasnt looking, then let about 100yds of line out floating just below the surface between my boat and the cushion. Trap set. Now we just needed the right bait to bring him in. We both stood up, dropped our drawers and mooned him as he zipped by just out of range and he took the bait, swerving around for another close pass... That is until he sucked that nylon line into his impeller, rendering his ski useless. With nowhere to go, I motored over, put the fear of God in him, collected my cushion and then towed him to the marine patrol station and let him explain how he'd found himself in this situation. End result was a big fat ticket for him (reckless operation), a junked impeller, and a heck of an explanation for his father (who I also had a conversation with) who was waiting at the ramp. Sometimes, justice does get served.

Great idea. This is how my Grandpa got rid of stray and barking dogs at their place in Kentucky. lol

GGreen great reply there! We have almost quit going to a close lake due to the jet skies and others, we witnessed a "BBoat" in a no wake zone under the bridge knock with their wake a new Skeeter CC into the pilings of the bridge, it was a new Skeeter and they followed him till they caught him, got his TX# and filed a complaint also asked for ID and Ins and was refused so Dallas Park Police was called. I do not know the outcome.
