I have tried mister twister, black and decker, oster, hamiliton beach, and several others and the american angler ultra was great. But don't make it anymore. Bought american angler from amazon (only place I could find it). Clean more fish in a week than the average guy does in a year. Took mike littlejoh's advice and bought a set of the shark blades. If you can say sweet that don't cover it. I can't beleive someone has not decovered that shape of blade for filleting fish before because it is the cat's meow. Just my 2 cents on the subject, Johnny P.s. Catrfish and striper regular blade but I get 10 times more tried doing sandbass with a blade. Too many fish to clean.

For you Dexter guys, when I go to Amazon they have many different ones to choose from, do you have a model or something that would help avoid any lesser ones, or anything that would help narrow the choice?

I use an American Angler if I ckean at the docks but use a Mr. Twister Piranha if I clean at home and both work well with sharp blades. My problem with the piranha is the Mr. Twister replacement blades that I bought on line were worthless then I bought another set at Academy and the were the same poor quality. If I could find good blades the knives work fine.
