I'm looking to see what everyone thinks about Malibu? I personally have one and love the storage design and how stable they are on the water....that's why I bought one. I was just wondering what everyone's opinion was about the Kayaks and the company?

I have the X-13 and love it! Have been fishing hard this year and its rigged to the hilt and i think im about done with extras. Its very stable in nasty 25-30 mph wind blown 18 inch white caps. Been out in that junk a few times. Not fun but was impressed with how it handled. The storage and set up is perfect. Nothing i would change with the way she is setup at all.

Bought my son a Mini-X. I've fished out of it twice. Very stable! No issues.

I think they are very well designed boats. I wouldn't mind adding an X-Factor to my fleet. I just picked up an mini x for my son and wife to use. Great little boat!

I just bought myself a Mini-X and love it. I wish I could have afforded something a little longer so it was a bit faster on the water. I just can't say enough about the storage and the stability. I fish Lake Lavon for cats and that lake always has white caps so I went with the Malibu. I may be doing some work with them to expand here in the DFW area. If anyone is interested in buying one, expanding their rental fleet, or setting up to be a dealer let me know.

Several friends in Florida happy paddling their Stealth 14s. Great looking kayak and one of the better big guy kayaks in my opinion.

I remember being pleasantly surprised when I first paddled the X-Factor and Mini-X. Giver their width they do paddle well. When they introduced the X-13 (owned one for a bit) it it filled their need for a more efficient hull design, but with good stability as well.

A word of caution. If you are looking at a used Malibu I would avoid kayaks manufactured for 2008 (and possibly 2009). Malibu either used a poorer quality plastic or not enough plastic during the molding process during these runs that caused a number of kayaks to crack in the seat pan or around the scuppers.

At the time Malibu was going through some management changes. However, they have since righted the ship and are once again putting out a quality product.

I have a new xfactor and i have been enjoying it. Lots of storage, laid out well, long fast n wide at 14.5' & 600lbs capacity. Track nice. A bit combersom to transport at times. Dont know about yall But I still prefer the old rubber style lids to the new latching hatches personally.
If my xfactor had a bigger rocker and not so deep Ved it would be a 10 on a 10 scale IMO. I know, i know, no perfect boat right?
As for the company...
They also had some major challenges late last yr, and early this yr.
Hope all that garbage is behind them now.
My mind tells me that, If they didnt have nice yaks they would not have survived.
Neumie is right concerning plastic. They r still a lil thinner than say a wilderness but
They make it work .)

I bought a used stealth 12,
was told it was newer model
and that it had the new model
hatch and storage lid gaskets
and that it did not leak,
well guess what, they leak.
