Got out to the dock yesterday around 2:30, had a BS session with one of my dock neighbors and then went to see if the calm water had made the fish want to bite better than they have been for the last week or so.

Yep, the bite was on!

My first stop was in about 22 feet of water and I caught well over 20 whites (kept 10 for the freezer). Most of the time the slab wouldn't make it to the bottom they were biting so well.

Next stop had me down by the dam looking for hybrids. Found them!

I only boated one keeper, but I didn't get a picture of that one. The next 8 hybrids I caught were in the 16-18" range. Also caught at least 18-20 more whites and threw them back. I had planned on staying out until dark, but my arms got tired and I have a BIG blister on my jigging hand! crazy

Not the best pics, but I was fishing alone and was in a hurry. The lid on my front livewell is just over 16" for reference.

All of the fish were caught on a 1.5oz Moe's Godfather slab.

After I got home, I had a homebrew that DEFINITELY was NOT diet milk! cheers

All of the hybrids went back into the water for another fight in the future.

Going_Green, that glass of wonderful is the ever popular Goat Scrotum Ale.... My version is a bit different than Charlie Papazian does it, but it works for me. It's a porter and has a nice bite with a hint of ancho chili pepper and a bit of cocoa while teasing the tongue with a bit of hops! Almost 7% ABV... Consume carefully...

I'm a partial mash brewer here mainly due to space and wife.

Care to share a recipe or 4? PM me!

While I can't really tell you the exact location, I'll say this... I was down close to the dam and looking for humps that usually hold fish. I'm not sure of the names or such of the locations....

This time of year, when the sun is out and the daytime heat is on, look for humps, levees, and such that have a severe drop on one side. The fish tend to gather up on the humps and then "migrate" around a bit as the day progresses and the shad move over...

The spots I fished yesterday are well known locations on the lake, but the exact location wouldn't work for you since the spots were barren when I got to them. After arriving, I slow motored around and found the critters staged off to the sides of the normal spot.

That make any sense?

That's the way we found them Saturday as well. Stop and fish the humps even if you don't mark fish. I caught a bunch Saturday they were buried on the bottom.
