I'm going to cedar creek Saturday and Sunday to fish. I've got good electronics and know how to use them, and I've been doing some good research on general areas to check. I catch a lot of whites and a few hybrids on Palestine so when I find them ill probably be able to get a few in the boat. What I'm wondering about is running the lake? Are there any certain areas to avoid? I'd also like to know of some general locations to catch big shad at, or are they easy to catch in the lake? Thanks everyone.

Haha I should, I should. I've got a friend with a lake house out there and he's been begging me to take him out there and see what we can do. Are you fishing Saturday?

Shad are usually easy to get on CC. Early mornings under dock lights and the back of coves during the day. Sandbass are from the dam to just north of the spillway most of the time. Hybrids are usually found south, southwest, and west of crappie island and down to the dam. Work the deep water humps and ditches for the big fish.

Take a fish boating today!

Awesome thanks! I know the lakes a little low now, anything I need to look out for while running around the dam? Ill be staying about 3 miles do the direct
East of the dam before the bridge. So if there's anything between the bridge and dam I'd probably need to know about it. Thanks. Always be careful on unfamiliar water.

A shallow sand bar goes way out into the lake on Saint Annes Point - beware! Also, on the west side of the lake due west of Crappie Island there is a shallow bar running NE from the big house out on a point. Beware of it! There are also shallow bars in the coves just south of the Pinnacle Club clubhouse and north of Crappie Island. The north shore of Caney Creek arm has some shallow bars.
There are some shallow bars out from the cattails at the dam. Good luck!

So if I just stay in the middle of the lake and pay attention to my lakemaster chip should I be fine?
