Can anyonbe tell me the best place to park to get to the lake area behind the Ol' Hunt Mansion? Spent Sunday there at the lake and couldn't find a road to get me near the place.

White Rock Road off Gaston/Garland Road, Fisher Road, Williamson Road and Mockingbird are the 4 actually streets that connect with the Lawther Drive side of the lake, which is west/mansion side of the water. Dependent upon which side you enter, no side is actually quicker, a variance of under 5 minutes of drive time dependent upon being stuck behind bike riders. The closest parking lot would probably be off the White Road Road entrance which is on the southwest side up a few blocks and turns from Gaston/Garland Road. If you are familiar with the area the lots are near the old white boat docks. You have to walk/ride a bike with your gear to get directly behind Mount Vernon, also known as the Hunt house. Good fishing and tell your tales of success. I'd like to know the good spots as well.

..if you are talking about the little pond that shows from the feeder creek near there .it is a private residence ....if you want to fish in front of the hunt house you can park at 3800 west lawther and just walk north east to it . good luck , that can be a productive spot by the way
