I am considering getting rid of my bass boat and getting a center console. Does anyone make center consoles that have a big casting deck? I am used to my bass boat and it seems like all the CC I look at don't have very big front and back casting decks.

Also, does anyone know if there are any brands that you can put foot control trolling motors on and have the pedal recessed? Most brands have an anchor storage where the pedal tub would have to go.

I think the Skeeter bay boats have pretty decent sized decks. My brother has a Ranger 2200 bay. Front deck is decent sized, no rear deck. I dont think the saltwater boats will have a recess tray for trolling motor since most saltwater trolling motors are hand control.

Pathfinder or shearwater make some nice bay boats with these features. Still may have trouble finding one with a recessed TM pedal.

I'm not aware of any saltwater trolling motors with foot controls. Check out the Minn Kota Riptides or Motor Guide Great White models. There are hands free versions.

yeah the only saltwater trolling motors are hand or remote control you can get a wireless foot pedal but you wouldn't need to have it recessed they are small

....with the corrosive atmosphere down here on the Coast (SALT) you will want to steer clear of a foot control! When I bought my Skeeter bay boat that was the first thing I ditched as it had one of those black 109lb freshwater models with the foot control. Picked up a new I-Pilot 101 and couldn't be happier. Thing I like about it is that you can be fishing anywhere on the boat and still run the thing without being stuck up front to operate it.

...so good it tastes like it died screaming!

The Shearwater 23 have decent sized front/rear decks. I have an I-pilot (saltwater version) that is hand held remote controlled or foot pedal controlled. I moved from a Champion Bass Boat to the Shearwater and could not be happier. Good luck shopping.

stratos,
like the other guys have mentioned, Skeeter and Nautic Star are making some fine well laid out rigs, but if you don't mind buying used, take a look at the later model Champions, 05 and up, most of them have good front and back decks( no room for a foot control though). I have an 06 22'er that I bought for the family room but have since found that I haven't lost any bass fishing usability, I like the room so much I don't think I'll ever go back to a bass boat, good luck (I run a hand control Riptide 101)
