I have a 2006 Opti 150 that started giving me an alarm last weekend. It is a 4 beep alarm every couple minutes. Manual said either water in fuel filter or low oil level on tank on side if the motor. I checked the tank on the side and it was full. Just to be sure, I ran it on muffs and cracked the little valve open on top until oil started coming out, then tightened it back down. Still beeping. So this afternoon, I changed the fuel filter. I checked the old one and it barely had about 6-8 drops in the bottom of the jar. Cranked it back up and still beeping. I then disconnect the sensor wire from bottom of filter, still beeps. I also figured out that will also beep with the engine off. Reconnected wire and figured it was time to ask.
Any help would be appreciated.

You can also unplug the float sensor wires at bottom of the oil tank to see if warning stops.

I'll check that. I didn't notice wires on the bottom. Just the blue wires going in on top.

I didn't see any wires on bottom, but 2 blue on top. I disconnected both of them and still get the alarm.

Unscrew the in boat oil tank opening that has the hoses connected to it. Pull it out ( with some rags) and look at he screen on the bottom of the pickup tube. If it has a coating on the screen use some parts cleaner on it. It sounds like your pickup screen is clogged.
This is for the large on boat tank.

I cannot remember if the same thing happened but I had the guardian system kept going off on my motor too. I had checked the fuel filter/water separator and the tank was full but the alarm was going off.
I called my mechanic with the intentions of letting him take a look at it and he advised me to clean the screen. It took care of the problem.
The only thing I don't remember exactly is if it was 4 beeps but it did beep every couple minutes.
PS, I took the Opti off several months ago to put a higher performance engine on. I then put the current 200XS on it. I kind of wish I had kept the 150.

For those interested in solution, I had a friend help me find the cause. He shorted the 2 blue wires on top of the side mount oil tank. I turned the the key and we waited about 5 minutes and no alarm. Oil tank was still completely full. He said it was the sensor. I ordered a new oil tank. Hopefully, problem solved.
