I lived in Southern California for 32 years and I can attest to the fact that there are not only crappie in CA but there are some BIG blacks there.

btw ......hahahaha I saw a fishing show where they were fishin lake Powell for crappie. They were in about 20 FOW and you could see the fish on the bottom hit the jig. It was pretty neat.

Caught a bunch from Clear Lake (100 miles north of SF) in 1967. Also in the 50's we used to catch crappie from Ocean Lake in Wyoming. At Ocean Lake there was no limit. We would fill tubs with crappie. Caught a lot on a red strip of cloth hooked on your hook similiar to putting on an earthworm. The lake was very clear and you could see them hit if the water was smooth.
If we concentrated on the really important stuff in life,
there'd be a shortage of fishing poles
