Girlfriends dad just got a 88 skeeter 175sx with a Yamaha 150. Has a Yamaha 25-m prop on it. It seems to have a lot of blow out when trying to get on plane unless you ease into it then it still won't get up to 5k rpm. Is this the right prop for this combo? Hopefully we just need to change the motor height.

Do`nt think your going to pickup 800rpm on motor height change. I would try a 23m.

18' Skeeter 150HP = 23 pitch prop. Mine is different to the degree that it's a ZX180 with 150 Merc. I tried the 25 trophy and it did the same thing you describe. My 23 Trophy runs summer at about 5600 to 5800 in winter 40 degrees it will run 6000. These numbers are full tournament load empty livewells with just me in the boat at 145lbs. The best pitch for me would be 24 on a Trophy love my 4 blade. Gary is correct the 23 seems to be best all around for your boat. Hope this helps.
