glad to see them step up in Rod brand! Really? Trey Kistler and Gary Loomis have been working together for quite a while. A more accurate statement would be, "Glad to see they are offering a higher dollar rod."

Heard a lot of complaints about Kistler. I still use all my skeeter rods. Maybe I just got a bad one. Not sure about the TFO brand... never had one.

I'm no expert either.
It's a well known fact that Kistler got some bad blanks several years ago. I haven't heard and don't personally have any complaints about any of their current rods.
I'm glad to see they're offering a Heavy action rod this year. But as far as brand goes, I think Kistler is more high end than TFO, and I would prefer a Heavy action KLX over any of the TFO offerings.

Kistler KLX is designed by Trey Kistler and Gary Loomis with blanks made by Gary Loomis at North Fork Composites and rods built in Texas. Both are great rods but it is not a better brand. Own both.

The tfo is not a higher dollar rod; it is in fact much cheaper dollar wise , but is of excellent quality from what I hear and know of the rod . Just my two cents worth.

I believe the Kistler Argon rod offered in prior years was Kistler's cheapest rod, price wise. I'm not aware of a TFO rod that is cheaper than $99.

and THERE'S my point! the rod this year is better than the previous Kistlers.....
maybe it should have been worded differently as to not offend the 30%'ers.

I won a TFO rod as a door prize earlier this spring. It was a medium action rod and really did not need it. It had a Bass Pro sticker on it. I took it to Bass Pro and they changed it out for me. When I was there I seen TFO does have a 99.00 7'3 heavy action. They seem like a little heavy to hold. But they look like a well built rod.
