I'd put an Optimax on it. The SHO is about as reliable as Mark Sanchez.

your not going to see any change really at all going from a 150 to a 150. you might as well just order a pro xs decal and change the sticker on the motor you have and save 12K.

if you have that kind of money to burn why wouldnt you just trade it in for a z119 that has a 225hp rating?

Why waste your money? A new motor identical to your two year old motor isn't going to get you anything but a couple more years of warranty and shiny new stickers.
Unless you're increasing horsepower, the only thing that will get you more "performance" is a quality prop worked to match your boat/engine and a hydraulic jackplate to fine-tune the elevation while you're running.

I run my Mercury Pro XS motors 200-400 hrs a year... I get a new boat/ motor each year. This year is my 7th Pro XS and I've never taken a cowling off of one. Seriously, enough said! Thats impressive!

What is realy crazy with the z118 is that it has all the same specs as the z518 with the exception of HP rateing.118 is 150 the 518 is 200. The 118 is underpowered bad.It should at least be raised back to 175 where the 188 was.Just my view.

I love my SHO. Biggest problem with SHO owners
Is they don't run them hard enough. 200 plus hours
On mine and she runs like a bat out of HELL.
