Jeff Craft took my co worker David and I to Cooper and man the wind was howling. we marked a bunch of fish on mid lake humps but no takers. So then we went over by the dam along the rocks and started way laying the sand bass right up by the shore. We got 50 or 60 and kept 26 BIG SLAB Sand bass. We were only able to fish for about two hours because THREE super cell thunder storms popped up out of nowhere. So we made it back to the cleaning station as the rain hit. There were two catfishermen there with a bunch of catfish and they did good.

I hate to put this out there but one of the gentlemen was wondering over on the other side of Jeff's truck during the cleaning and I glanced up for a split second and noticed he was back by the boat. He then came back to the cleaning station and told us that he rolled up jeff's truck window. Jeff has electric windows so he had to turn the key on ( what was he doing over there??? ) Well we got back to jeff's house and one of my rod and reels was missing. We didn't see it fall out of the boat and I KNOW I put all four of my rods in Jeffs up right rod holders by the center console. JUST SAYING noidea

But we had a good day of catching big sand bass despite the bad weather. No pics today because it was hard enough to fight the wind ( 30 plus MPH for sure. )

That sucks to end a good day of fishing like that. What kind of vehicle was he in, if I ever make to Cooper I would like to look out for him.

Thanks Double Row. I guess you just always have to watch everyone and everything. I can get another rod and reel combo. thumb

Gene , I didn't see what kind of truck but they were in a 17 or 18 foot aluminum tracker with a sun canopy over the top. Maroon and red . But It's okay at least we got back to the ramp and everyone was safe and we got to catch some. I just wish the weather would have been better . This wouldn't have happened if we could have stayed out fishing smile. We took a vacation day to do this trip. Go figure bad wind and weather rolfmao

Nice vacation report, Keith! It was very windy today? Hope it was your $10 ultra light combo you were bragging to us at the tourney, where every 10 incher sounded like a hybrid. rolfmao

I fished Cooper for the first time Memorial Day...my sons and me tore up the sandies wading out behind the cabins in the South Sulphur unit. What a blast! That stinks about your rod!!

Tony we were at Doctors creek. From my understanding the sulphur ramp was too low to launch. It was a bear trying to get in and out of doctors with the wind blowing right into the ramp smile sorry we missed you too thumb

Sounds like a fun trip minus the jerk taking your rod and reel
