I have heard some really good things about the H2O hooks, but was wondering about the Bass Pro brand hooks. I have seen mixed reviews on them. Which brand is better to y'all?

the only h2o hooks that I have found worth anything are their straight shanks.
Ill stay with name brand on everything else.

I have used bass pro and h20. bass pro are much better. There are much better hooks on the market, but the price is right for bass pro.I have to feed my kids.

Unless you just have to have h2o hooks, I'd avoid both and buy Owner or Gamakatsu. The price difference is very small and the quality is very different.
H2o makes pretty good hard baits and decent rods/reels but I shy away from their hooks and line, neither have worked well for me in the past. BPS is marginally better on hooks but still the price difference is small enough I'll just buy the good ones.

My experience with the H2O has been good. I like a round bend offset hook and used the Owner Z Lock till a couple years ago when I tried the H2O hook and have had no problems.
I tried a 25 pack of the bass pro hooks and bent the tips on the 1st couple I tried, gave them to a friend who wanted to try them. He bent the points on a couple and threw the rest away.

Ok thanks slodsm this is what I was thinking. I was thinking that if the quality of H2O was really as good that I had heard I would go ahead and buy them because you get more for cheaper, but I didn't really think it was true.

That was what happened to me with h2o's when they first came out and I tried them so I never bothered again. They may have improved since then.

I bought some of the H2O worm hooks last year and had good luck with them. I bought some in Feb. of this year and have rolled the points on several. These were 2/0 and 4/0 offset shank worm hooks.

H2O hooks. The first ones they came out with resembled eagle claw. The points were very similar. I did witness some tips curling on those. And in my opinion those were [censored]. However, their second design and points closely resemble Gammys. And that is the version i caught my best largmouth on. (8 pounder). Flipping.

Watch out for the H2O hooks, I quit using them because the packs that I bought had very sharp burrs where the hook eye meets the shaft. They will cut your knot if (when) the line slips down.
I had three packs like this and returned them. Showed the manager at my Academy, who bass fishes a lot, and he was going to see if he could pass it on to someone who might be able to do something about it. Don't know if anything ever came of it.
These were the Wide Gap type.
