I go out to my buddies lake house probably twice a month and he has a bass boat but for some reason we can never get a good amount of LMBs. Does anyone have any spots, lure choices and water depth tips? I'm going out there this weekend so I need some pointers ASAP

What do you usually catch? I will be going up June 13th-16th for a family reunion. May or may not take the boat.

I caught my personal best Sand Bass this weekend under a dock light in about 3 feet of water. Sucker was around 4 lbs. broke two lines before I switched to a different rod with fresh line on it and ripped his lips off. released to fight again. caught lmb, sandbass, perch and saw a gar or two. Bait fish were everywhere.

Given the traffic on the lake there was pretty good fishing this past weekend.

Bass, White 2.72 lbs, 17.00". This is the lake record.
More than likley the 4lb fish was a Hybrid bass.

Those Hybrids are there. I think Randy Wood said the fishery throws all the extra stuff in the lake. I catch them from time to time in Neely Slough.

You'll have a lot better luck at PK doing that. You'll be very Surprised at how good that lake is after dark. Try a blue back chartreuse Bandit 200 or KVD and fish around the docks and shallow points. You won't need a real big bait. Be forewarned that you'll likely tie into a sizable striper and be tormented by sand bass.

If you land some of those big stripers with a bandit 200 in their lip it's probably mine. Those bigger ones will severely test your blood knot for the florocarbon leader.

I would really like to night fish PK - some lakes are simply amazing at night. I'm not a big fan of the TX sun once June gets here.

It sounds like the fires on the Peninsula didn't do much damage, but the area could sure use some additional rain - especially up in the river where it helps the most.

Will be there Thurs-Sun and I will be giving the bass as much hell as I can throw at them! If I figure something out I will definitely share.
