New to the lake and I plan to go out Sunday with a focus on catching some catfish. Any helpful tips would be appreciated.
Should I be in deeper water or around the docks or dam? Should I be fishing bottom? Is the 1097 bridge a good spot? Best bait for success?
As you can see I am full of questions. Thanks for the feedback ahead of time!

That looks like a good day. Have you done any good at the 1097 bridge? I heard shad at 20'-30' would do good there.

Never fished by the bridge. I don't have a boat, but I do have access to the dam (one of the perks of being an intern with the SJRA). I'm sure you could catch channels in good numbers under a slip cork along the 1097 rip rap. Blues will generally be deeper. Fish flats on the edge of the river channel (if you can find it).
