I usually spray a bit of pam cooking spray on anything with exposed hooks that's not in a package. The oil keeps it from rusting but that's about it.

Those little packets of silica beads you get with new shoes will also help soak up moisture. I always dry mine before they go back in the box on the rare occasion I don't break them off.

I use the plano boxes with the z-rust tabs in it they work great for rust plus if I change a jig out I leave it out on the deck of the boat till it dries out.

I haven't had any problems storing all of my jigs in Plano boxes

I keep mine in zip lock bags by color, and haven't had any trouble yet.

+1 Putting one of these in each tackle box with open hooks has helped save a lot of time and money from rusty hooks. Put it in, and never mess with it again.

No. But I do dry them thoroughly before I put them in a box. I use the Bass Mafia Bait Coffin 3700 box.

I do not keep skirted jigs in boxes. I skirt them as I use them & remove skirts before putting the jigs back in boxes. If I have a jig that is working I will make up a few & keep them in my day box.

If I take one off, I let it dry out before putting it back in the box. Works unless its raining. smile
