Love mine, it fishes stable, dry ride in big water, plenty of storage.

Those of you guys running the Nitro's, did you get the extra bolt in console for the passenger side and if so...do you use it or leave it out for the room?

I just traded in a Z9 CDC. It was a great boat. Never had any problems with it. The resale is the only draw back. It cost me plenty for 5 years of use. The 24 volt trolling motor was plenty also and I fished Amsted mostly

I just bought a z7 and did buy the extra console. I do use it I have kids that come with me so they enjoy it.

I was shocked how easy the process was to buy it.

Love mine so far

I've owned 2 Nitros. Liked both a lot. Would buy another without question. Fact is all brands break. Anyone that says different is not telling the whole story. Most people I know that run them like them. The Z9 and Z8 are damn fine fishing platforms.

I almost bought a z8, I really like the layout. I chose a Skeeter instead, because once I spec'd the Nitro with the same features that came standard on my skeeter it was almost the same price. As mentioned before, the resale that they fetch just is not worth the up front expense.

You must have caught someone on a bad day/new guy/etc. I've had great service from the sales guys at H&W and Plano Marine unless you went to some other Skeeter dealer.

Plano in Long view is a excellent store.

Still good looking boats though.

Well I see there is alot of different opinions on this... Some have been there, done that , and some are just offering their two cents worth Ken. For what it is worth, I just sold a Z8 and my new Z9 is just now out of the "break in" stage. The Z8 is a great boat- I had a 225 XS onit and it ran good and the hole shot was good. The Z9 is going to run about a mile per hour faster and the hole shot loaded is a tad bit better. I have ran a 190 TF, a 901 CDX, a 898, a Z8 and now a Z9, so I have been fortunate enough to see a lot of Nitro boats and rides.. Are they perfect boats? No they are not. Does anyone build a perfect boat? I have yet to find one... although I am sure many here will tell you their current boat brand is.

There are things Nitro does better then others and things they could do better. As for the carpet comment, the Z9 uses the same grade as other boats. So not sure where that came from.

The livewells are the best livewells on the market, period. Storage and deck acreage are unmatched. Galva shield trailers, RPS transoms that deliver great holeshot, and a good ride. I have been in a lot of Nitros, and each year they seem to get better. Waiting on a MY14 Z9 right now.

I am going to be in the market for a new boat before too long. You listed all the things they do very well in your opinion, but you said some things not so well but didn't list them. What are some of those things they don't do so well?

I am on my 3rd Z8 and absolutely love the boat. In fact, I have had 6 Nitros and have never had any problems with any of them. People who bash are simply trying to justify why they bought what they bought & really don't have any first hand knowledge. If you want the "bling" then Nitro is probably not for you, but if you want a great boat for a not so ridiculous price then you will not be disappointed. The 225 Pro XS is perfect for the Z8 and you will have lots more money for the things that really matter (nicer electronics, power poles, overpriced fishing lures, entry fees, gas, a nicer home, etc. etc.)

Yes what was said here. "If you want the "bling" then Nitro is probably not for you, but if you want a great boat for a not so ridiculous price then you will not be disappointed."

I just went to Nitro and did the build a boat on a Z-8. Everything that I want on it comes to $49,225.00

That seems kinda rediculous compared to other boats with better resale.

Im with you, I don't see the "value" in the Nitro unless you get it as plain as it gets. That cost that I have on the one I buile doesn't even have power poles on it.
