Palistine is an excellent bass lake, been fishing it for almost 2years and theres about 1/2 of the lake(above hwy 155) that I've not even seen. Thousands of boat docks, grass lily pads, plenty of off shore structure, timber , several bridges, deep water coves etc. Palistine is a jewel, not to mention living in Tyler you are with in 1.5hr drive of Fork, Lake o pines,Murval, Martin Creek,Tyler,Brandy Branch,Welsh,Hawkins,Caddo,Ceder Creek, Tawokoni, and many more. If you love to bass fish it's great place to live.

Excellent fishery for any species!!! You can fill the freezer up with crappie during the winter quickly. Just brush up the boat house for us once you settle in.

i live about 30 mins from fork but due to work i'm looking at moving down on that side of tyler and actually looking at a house on palestine now. i'd recommend it. a friend who fishes there a lot says that it fishes real good with exception of dog days of summer. but another thing is you're close to athens, tyler, jacksonville. all those tend to be pretty good summer lakes, and fork is not too far either. as a guy who has lived around here for awhile and puts fishing behind god, family, and work only on my priority list, it's where i'm trying to move to, so i guess that says it all.

I've fished it off and on for 15 years. I really like it! Have had some bad and good days, as with any lake.

Bill,
Thought long and hard about PK but Tyler puts us closer to the family and kids and east TX has more water.

Kirbydog-welcome to Texas! If you are looking at home in/near Tyler, especially with a focus on the Lake Palestine area, feel free to call Terri Durossette as a realtor. If you don't already have a realtor she would be a good one to pick. She lives ON lake Palestine and can point you in the right direction. Her # is 903-571-3945. Feel free to tell her Kirk recommended her. Good luck with the move! And Palestine is my favorite lake in the state. I live in Dallas but once you get settled in Tyler, feel free to give me a call and I will be more than glad to show you around the lake.

I have stayed on the lake once and even with limited knowledge and running the lake because of low water and high winds I found some good bass from 2-4.5lbs
