I've never been to Lake Somerville. I'm mostly wanting to fish in my old bass tracker. I'm camping for a weekend in May with my wife and 7 month old. We're planning on tent camping so some trails and nice campgrounds(bathrooms and showers) would be good. Any advice on campgrounds, crowds and the lake would be appreciated.

I've always thought Birch Creek State park was the nicest area on the lake.

Don't forget about the Nails Creek State park across the lake from Birch Creek park, just as nice, good place to hang out and camp during the cold weekend's, sites are more sheltered from the wind and elements, back last year the woods were nice, didnt catch many fish, but had a good time, with the piggies coming through the camp at 2 in the morning! Good park hosts there too!

Thanks for the info. The weather is still a little cool at night for the baby but I'll be heading there soon. The weather has been crazy. Looked to warm up early in January, now it's cooled a bit again and this wind.

Both the state parks are nice, Nails creek is good in fall, some protection from howling winds should they blow big on your weekend. Hot summer times, Birch wins out! Good crappie times just on the end of boat ramp to left and right in early morns. Park gets quite at nights, local rangers don't put up bs from rowdy patrons!
