Uploaded the latest version of software and took my boat out yesterday and got no reading from the transducer. Checked plug and it was good and once I got it home in the garage I turned it back on and went to normal mode where you can hear the transducer while out of the water. Did not hear it ticking so uploaded an older software and that did not do the trick. Guessing my ducer has gone bad?? I have already had to have a replacement GPS puck!! Any suggestions???

I had same problem with my 1198, the old software did not allow you to turn off the transducer, the new software does. Turn on the unit, and let it fully boot up. Press the off button once! The menu will show transducer on/off on top, then brightness, and something else. Use the arrow key to turn the T/D on, and you should start hearing the clicking!!! With the T/D off you only get nav pages, hope this helps.
