Are you sure your not stump jumper in disguise, there were problems on the 6.7 in the narrow frame trucks(450 and up) but the pickups have been mostly trouble free. I work on Ford diesels and the majority of 6.7 failures I have seen have been owner induced, contaminated fuel,(def and water),and turbos going out. 3 in 3 years, two had all emmisions equipment deleted and tuners, and the other turbo failure was on a narrow frame. in those 3 years ive replaced 2 engines,1 dropped a vavle, a narrow frame truck, the other was a spun rod bearing, had 38000 miles he changed his oil once at 20000 miles when I replaced his turbo. we didnt replace his engine under warrenty. As for dodges being better, their 6.7 is a joke worse fuel milage less power, and the great majority of the ones from 2007 to 2011 would be in the shop constantly if they still had the emissions eqiupment on them but thats the first thing people do when they buy a dodge is remove the dpfs and egr's and put a tuner on them, Fords 6.7 is miles ahead of Dodges. Numbers dont lie Fords outsell Dodges and Chevys for a reason. The eco boost is a great motor, class leading power and excelent fuel economy, but you dont have them both at the same time. If your making it make all the torque and hp it can its going to use a lot of fuel to do it. All an engine is, is an air pump, and the more power it makes the more fuel it uses, simple as that, it will get the advertised fuel economy, or it will get 7 miles to the gallon towing if your foot is in it running 85 to 90 with 7000 lbs behind you.

My 5.7 is will rip both those axels off...I have a video of me pulling a z71 around a parking lot backwords.... its a 03 ram 1500 with only a chip...... and I'll be getting a 5.9 Cummins in a few weeks and I believe that's the best time proven diesel out there..... too bad dodge move to only using the 6.7.....

Once you take off the emissions BS the 6.7 is a good motor as well.

I've seen this done already toadrustler, if I were you I'd put my logging chain up and enjoy my truck. Chevy makes a great looking truck with great fuel mileage but a tq monster it isn't. The EB I saw hook up to a '12 1500 with a 5.3 wasn't even a contest.

People get wrapped up around it being a turbo v6 but I was making 450 to the tire out of 111 cubic inches with a 60mm turbo 12-13 years ago and driving it around on pump gas, displacement matters NA, with forced induction, it's out the window because a 3.7 liter at 14.7 psi (double barometric pressure) consumes 7.4 liters of air per revolution.

I got a new (to me) chain today!! Now I can step it up with the big boys.

A man I know who's hotshotting just lost an injector on his 2008 Dodge 6.7. It did some other damage, enough to leave him stranded in east Texas leaking oil. He drove into a Dodge dealership and traded his broken down buggy for a new 1500 Texas edition. He really likes the new one and since he's slowing down by doctors orders he will be able to still carry a load every now and then.


By the way his Dodge had just over 600k miles on it when it lost the injector.

I have a 5.7 also. You might have to take a break to put gas in it!

I was just going to lay low until someone mentioned my name. What's up with the Eco Boost class action suit I am hearing about? I am not a fan of class action suits even one against Ford but just wonder if there is any merit.

If these 2 lawsuits have any merit then Ford will be in trouble because their 6.7 diesel is having some similar problems. I have one and have experienced and read many accounts about pushing on the accelerator pedal and the truck not responding, then all of a sudden the tires peel out and you haul azz. I can see a similar pattern with the 2.

Just picked up a 2013 Nissan Altima that gets 38 mpg highway. I cruise down the highway to work every day, but the next time I chain my truck to the back of another one will be the first time. Not sure what this sort of junk proves other than you're trying to compensate for something. I'm relegating the old Silverado to work truck status in the shop. No more 17 mpg for me. Should save enough money in gas to pay for the brand new car. Yall have fun pulling each other's axles off.

I just wanted to comment on the new 6.7 Diesel from Ford. I work the shop counter at Ford dealership I can attest to you that the 6.7's are not having all these motor issues this guys is talking about. It's mainly the 6.4's and by now most of the 6.0's have been fixed already. The 6.4 was terrible, that's probably why they only made it for a couple of years and then scrapped it. They take the cab off pretty much everytime they do anything to the motors becasue it's easier to work on that way. It doesnt mean that every truck with it's cab off is getting a new engine. Also to each his own. Each brand has their fare share of problems. You all act like yours is perfect but you know its not.
