I recall going to a bait shop under highway 90 going into Richmond. Numerous pictures of gator gar in the 200+ pound range. Ill admit it was not a safe place to fish especially at night. I 10 is much more rural though so Id think it was safer. Also lots of cats in the river.

Just upstream from the bridge are some riffles. Very sandy, color of chocolate milk.Lots of sandbars. My dads friends used to go down there and collect arrowheads and such. Very sandy, steep banks. I would imagine deep spots along bends, lots of jams. You could probably walk across in many areas. I will be crossing the bridge on Saturday and will be sure to take a good look if it is light out. Just east of the bridge is another bridge with some water pooled underneath it. I have caught lots of bowfins under there. Its been 20 years though. Its by peach ridge drive.

Well I was able to pull off and walk under the bridge on Sunday. There were about 7 other fishermen on the other side. River is low but plenty of water. Lots of eddys and stickups, sandbars. Very murky water right now. Thee was a catfish head under the bridge that was fresh. It looked like a good fishing hole to me.

It looked like a great place to spend a day fishing but I'd be curious to hear more about any dangerous element that may be a problem down there.
