Leaving for Falcon in the morning with my 2 sons who are home from college. We have not ever been on Falcon at this low water level. I know about the Veleno bridge and have it marked on my GPS. We will run in the river channel of course and would appreciate any other helpful tips for underwater hazards to avoid. Texas side only.

It is not bad. Just stay in the river. Good luck!

Yeah I know the wind is going to be blowing. This is the only time we can go so we're going anyway. Anyone launch off the bank at the state park with 2-wheel drive? I've heard that's not a good idea unless you have 4-wheel drive.

It can be done. I was just using 2 wheel drive until I got stuck the other day. I would not recommend it right now especially with all the recent rains. If you do make sure you have a tow rope as an insurance policy. GL while you are down and stay dead center in the middle of the creek and river channels. I saw a Blue Skeeter today that missed a house foundation by a matter of feet by marker seven. That house has maybe 8 in. to a foot on it. It would of been a terrible scene.

Jay - If heading south toward the dam where is that house foundation near marker 7? If you acted like marker 7 is in the middle of a clock at which time would the foundation be?

Just came back from Falcon. Public ramp is great to launch unfortunately water very murky all the way to marker 9. Wind was howling up to 20 mph. Don't ask about the fishing our boat messed up and starting to take in water. Fortunately, we were able to take it out on time. We were there last week and w whacked them with square bill crank on the rocks. Water is slowly coming up falcon has taken in almost 8" of rain the past week. We fished for only two hours and we fished the Tigres water was very clean. Good luck and have fun!

Jay,

Perhaps nobody can give me better advice than you on a pitching/flipping reel. I am a shimano man through and through, but in your opinion is there a better real out there for flipping the brush in Falcon?
