Well, I had commented on an earlier post that I would not go to Ray Hubbard on a holiday weekend due to how busy it gets. I'm glad my son talked me into it. After the storms past we went over towards the power plant and noticed a few hybrids busting the surface. I cast a soft plastic jerk bait (pearl with chartreuse tail) towards the boil and BAM it was on. My ultra lite spinning with 8lb. flouro started to whine and my son was on standby with the net. Man those things can peel line off when they see the boat....repeatedly. We borrowed a scale from a fellow TFF'r (can't remember his name, nice guy) and it touched 9 lbs. We let it go to be caught another day. Boated a few sandies and one channel cat with the standard slab with a teaser, then called it a night. Thanks again to the fellow TFF'r that loaned me the scale. Hope everyone enjoys their weekend. GTN69

Awesome job! If you can brave and flirt with storms, either before or after, it can net some huge returns! Literally!
Glad you got some big ones tonight! Thank you for releasing them too!
I do enjoy a good Squirt now and then.

Wow, thats a great fish, Clint! Congrats! Just another reminder why so many of us want to stock our lake with more of those awesome fighting fish! I was right next to Sassyman yesterday and watched him fight huge hybrid after hybrids as the fish pulled his rod tip under the boat several times!

Nice fish. We saw you after the storm by the I 30 bridge. We tried to troll around a bit but the bite just didn't seem to be there. Before the storm it was game on though.

Great fish. This morning was very light boat traffic. This afternoon my wife and I just drove down to go out on our dock at Harbor Bay. When we saw the parking lot we just turned around and came back home. They were stacked 8 cars deep at the ramp. Frank, Gill and my grandson went out this morning and caught a lot of sandies scattered around the lake.

I got a call from my brother Saturday about 3pm and he said his boat had broke down. He was up north by the railroad tracks and would I come and pull him in. I was in Mesquite so I headed back out and went to find him. I could see the storm coming from the south and it was a long tow to get his boat back to Bay View we just pulled into the Marina and got his boat back in the slip when the storm hit. Lot's of wind and rain. Just a word about the lake patrol. These guys do a great job and I thank them for it but yesterday when we pulled his boat in I untied his boat from mine and he was going to get his boat back in the slip with his trolling motor. I pulled away and he started the short distance to his slip when the Dallas Police boat was heading out. They yelled at him that they had the right away for him to get out of their way! He told them he was broke down. They told him they didn't care he had to get out of their way. Then they pulled around him and pulled away. I thought that was uncalled for! Wow they must have been mad about going out when the storm was coming.
