Buddy and i were fishing at fayette today....2.5-3lber breaks the line tied to his yellow magic magnum and the fish swims off with this beautiful popper. 10 seconds later I make a cast with a lipless and my rod loads up...rear treble is hooked in its side, front treble is hooked to the hooks of his yellow magic. Fish boated, lure recovered.

Only way it coulda been better was for him to not have lost a yellow magic on a different fish late yesterday eve (sorry, buddy, had to throw that jab in)....guess it gives me a reason to go back...

That is a good tale. Better and heavier line will put an end to those broke line tales.

Time for better line when two small fish can potentially cost you $50.

Still an awesome story tho.

15lb test Pline...thing was...these fish were inhaling the YM. Literally lodged completely sideways inside their mouths...and several were hooked this way. Couple that with a solid fight and the line was rubbing against their closed mouths...didnt help the situation any. I was using 17 and never broke off, but had to re-tie a few times.

Here's another one...out at Ammy...same guy, his line snaps at cast and his paycheck repo man goes soaring into the air, landing about 30yds away. I put the t-motor on high and head towards it. I was JUST ABOUT TO SAY "man, that would suck if a fish hits it" and out of the depths a 2lber swims up to it from below (water was clear and calm and sun was fairly bright), taps it with this nose, nips at the end treble and down it goes. He collapses in pain at losing his bait. 5 min and 2 jumps later the fish jumps and frees himself from it. We haul butt straight to it, get it, he ties it on and catches a fish on his very next cast.

I swear, the weirdest stuff happens to us..never fails.

that's funny. One time I was fishing with a baby brush hog and set the hook on a fish and it had bitten the tail off, I pitch back in there and break my line off on her. I kept on fishing and came back about 20 mins later to same spot and bam I finally caught her and her the bait with the hook and the tail all in its mouth lol. Crazy how this happens.
