Fishing has been excellent the last 3 weeks on Tawakoni. Well, even before that it has been great. We got an exteneded blue catfish bite due to the prolonged Spring and cooler water temps. Actually, the blues are still frisky, hungry and not hard to catch. Seems like most blue cats are being caught in extremely shallow water. Days that are windy and have been preceeded by strong wind are best. Days that start out dead calm aren't generally the good days. Bait has been easy to catch on shallow flats, shorelines and bridges. The larger gizzard shad have shown up and a couple of casts is all it will take to get that gallon bag full.  The channel catfish bite is ON! We have fished the last 3 morning for them (minus this morning and have caught limits on each outing. We are getting our fish in super shallow water and they are full of eggs. Punch bait fished under a cork is working best for us. We are doing lot of Catfish / Hybrid trips right now. I can do either blues or channels w/ a little hybrid action mixed in.  Pics from the last few days:

Happy Memorial Day folks. I lost my grandfather a few months ago and it really hits home how important that generation of folk are. He was my hero and long time POW. Also, he was my fishing buddy. Heres to you papaw.

Thanks Steve! Lots of boats on the water this weekend but the fish didn't care! We cooked up some Twok channe cat and man did they ever fry up tasty!

Thanks guys, back at it tomorrow after a well deserved day off today. Went to Canton and ate at tha dairy palace...went for a long drive and got some fresh air.......... AND SOMEHOW ENDED BACK UP ON A 24' SKEETER FUN FISHING RIGHT AT DARK!!!!!!
