I'm looking at the rod right now. I only bought it 2 months ago, I'm pretty sure the word "Classic" I see printed on it is a pretty clear indication. I'm not really sure why you would disagree?

I have a few All Stars, including some new ones. I haven't had any problem with them. I've only broken two. One broke when I was trying to force a huge fish...turned out to be a grinnel...out of heavy brush with 50 lb braided line. The other one broke when my partner stepped on it and snapped off the last foot and a half of it.

For $49, or $29 on sale, I think they're a great value. I like the way they feel better than most of my more expensive rods.

I have 7 of the newer all star rods and love them. Haven't had a problem out of any of them. They are light sensitive and well balanced rods.

I got confused in this conversation. I thought you were saying the original poster's rod was a Classic. I said it was an Elite. You were actually saying the one YOU have is a Classic. I have no idea about yours...never seen a picture of it.

I stepped on five of them and broke all five. Three new ones and two of the older models.
