No way look at the chain that runs way down his body and the hoist that is above him and compare..That is an awesome fish not trying to take that away from them!! but not 127# until I see a pic of him on a scale

I have no idea how much it weighs,
But I think its a girl and had a 7lb bass for dinner the evening before---

Yup thats to the armpit If she swallowed me for sure. Wouldn't want one like that to get me by the head. fem for sure. Short and fat. I'm with dam, looks well over a hundred to me. Having delt with 1000's of yellas over forty Smoke. The pic that mesquite has of his PB looks to be a bull to me. Large head and long body. That fish looks female and with the size of her head I would definately guess over a C. Female 80's only have around a 10" wide mouth. The block that old gal is hangin from is at least a 3" maybe 4". If its 3" She's well over a foot across the lips, 4" and you do the math. That my friends is a dinosaur.
When and if they do get my guns...they will most definitely be hot and empty.  Vera's PB=45.17 Jasons PB=76.94

If u say the chain links are an inch long then that fish is 48-52 inches long....not trying to take anything away from a once in a lifetime catch, just think the 127lb assessment is inaccurate. There is no speculating, just opening the discussion....is there a picture of the scale? Newspaper clipping? Congrats again on the amazing feat!

Talked to anothe local that I know a the bat wallago while getting burgers n beer. He said he's seen that picture a few weeks ago...so I guess we'll never know until we see a credible source. I had my doubts but wanted to share just in case.

Now that's a HOG!  State Rod/Reel Flathead record is 98.50 Lbs caught on Lake Palestine. The Other Method State Flathead record is 114 Lbs caught on a trout line off of Lake Livingston.  Defiantly a State Record!

That fish is not 127 pounds. It was 76 pounds. I was at the weigh in of the tournament. And it was caught off hwy 47 in bryan, tx not in sealey. Not sure where your getting 127 from.

Ketih Zwernemann is the one in the cowboy hat who held the tournament and jarrod sikorski caught it. I was there and saw the scale and it read 76.. No where near 127
