A buddy had told me that during the week last week he had been catching some nice stripers off the bank VERY early in the morning. I live in Wichita Falls, but my family lives on Texoma, so Friday morning I met him and another friend at "the spot." I can't tell you where it is. It's not my spot, but he wasn't lying when he said that fish over 30 inches were hitting topwater from the bank. We got there at 5:30am. The fishing was slow, but worth it. We only caught 8 between the three of us, but we caught a 31" and 26" and then some pretty nice others. Here are some pics:

Out of the 8 fish, I only caught 1, but it was the big one.

I was getting pretty frustrated. My buddies were using black and silver large chugbugs and were getting some hits and catching some fish. I had one on too and wasn't getting anything. I eventually changed to a pencil popper and after about 20 casts the big one hit. If I was only going to catch one, then I'm glad it was that one.
Nom nom nom...
