Hit the lake after some sunnies today. Super windy but we got into some protected areas with the kayaks. We were fishing gulp products under a float, and caught 50 fish easy. Biggest topping out in the 8" range, nothing huge. 6 came home with me for dinner along with a catfish. Fish were all caught right up on the bank, by limbs and whatnot mostly under shade. Pics soon to follow!

Thanks, probably released a dozen or so more that size, but didn't want to clean more than I was going to eat! Fried them whole, good stuff. Have a camping trip coming up at Raven May 30th and going to try and put a dent in the bream population and fry some fish for the group.

On a side note, was dissappointed that we only saw 1 gator. Did see a herd of 20 or so hogs in a back cove off a back cove. They didn't pay us any attention, but I would definately be alert hiking the trails around the lake.

I'll report back how we do on our camping trip as well. Hopefully I'll explore more of the lake in the yak then.

Great job. Good looking meal. We have kayaked and fished Raven quite a lot. We have had great luck tying off on the steel structure down at the south end of lake near the dam. You can fish 'em deep or cast to the shore from there. We may be going up for the day on Saturday or Sunday after church and maybe we can wet a hook together. Definitely try tying off on the steel structure near the dam.

Pray for a return to our Constitution.

Thanks for the tip I'll have to give that a shot. We will be there May 30th-June 2nd, If you see a 14' lime green Malibu kayak, that's me.
