I am taking a friend fishing to Calaveras for his birthday and I really want to get him on some reds or maybe even catfish, but I prefer reds. I was wondering what they were biting on and how deep they were suspended at. I have caught reds on a series 5 strike king crankbait when they are around 10 ft deep, but haven't been there in a while and any advice would be greatly appreciated. We will be there on sunday and in my boat. Thanks for your time and info.

Don't know about the fishing right now on Calaveras, but Cabela's has put a tagged fish in that lake. So if you catch a fish and its got a tag in it. It may be worth a $1,000,000 dollars. NO JOKE. Good Luck.
