Hey guys,
Fry vs. fingerlings is a huge difference. The survival rates are totally different.
They did add the 3 million but not sure what percentage of those will actually make it to the fingerling stage or to the 1 year mark. Either way, Hubbard is still very low on the fish per acre scale so the more the merrier.
Of course I will let everyone know when the little guys and gals will be delivered. We will need a celebratory toast of diet milk at the marina.
Jackson
Can we tie a benefit fish fry or something to this day? I know Frank mentioned doing something at the dock since the breakfast went so well. Do we get to pick when the little guys are delivered?

How do you join the "Ray Hubbard Sportsmen's Association"? I went to their website but I could not tell how to join.

JLight, show up at our next event and meet everyone. I maintain the website for the RHSA and will update it soon. You can also go on the website and donate for the stocking efforts of RHSA. This is just the start of something big.

According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juvenile_fish"Fish go through various juvenile stages between birth and adulthood. They start as eggs which hatch into larva. The larva are not able to feed themselves, and carry a yolk-sac which provides their nutrition. Before the yolk-sac completely disappears, the tiny fish must become capable of feeding themselves. When they have developed to the point where are they capable of feeding themselves, the fish are called fry. When, in addition, they have developed scales and working fins, the transition to a juvenile fish is complete and it is called a fingerling. Fingerlings are typically about the size of fingers. The juvenile stage lasts until the fish is fully grown, sexually mature and interacting with other adult fish."

A buddy told me once that I fished so much I was developing gill plates in my neck!

Jeff let's see when the little guys are coming. I will be on vacation two weeks in June. The next thing we wanted to do was a fish fry. Let's see if we can't combine it with the release of our little children into the wild. No Terry Dr. Whiplash you cannot use your miniature rod and reel on these guys!

Cool!
I think about 2 million were at the dam this morning, they were schooling like crazy.
I heard it looked like someone was dropping cannon balls in the water

Excellent! This has been a worthy goal indeed. Now we have to be like Tawakoni and keep it going year in and year out! Thinking long term Hubbard will become a premiere Hybrid lake. Everyone wins when that happens. Plus we have a lot of catch and release taking place now so we ought to see larger fish in the near future. Amazing what happens when a bunch of fishermen put their heads and their wallets together!

Thanks, Action! The President of RHSA has made it possible for RHSA success in so many ways! The legal fees to make us legal and as a non profit org took a couple of months with many correspondences and was all done by Jackson. The fees cost was almost $1000 and Jackson and his wife Jenifer donated it all to RHSA! Behind the scenes, Jackson contacted the lake biologist, LTSA, Keo Fish Farms, etc.. Make sure to say thank to Action when you see him on the lake
