Hi guys,

A friend at work was telling me that there is some good brackish / marsh type fishing a few clicks north of Galveston at a place called Bayou Vista. Problem is he hasnt been there in several years and doesnt know how much the landscape has changed / where to fish etc.

I searched the forums and found a few threads on it but looks like those nice folks are fishing out of kayaks. And I will be banking it with my son.

I'm driving down from Tomball so hopefully I wont be driving around too much looking for a spot. I am just some good general guidance on where to go and what bait to use etc...

Any help is very much appreciated. Thank you.

About the only wade in access i'm aware of there would be by the railroad and the marsh there...but that wouldn't be on my list to wade. If the wind is light i'd hit the jetties.... if its moderate then i'd hit the pass or mosquito island off the dike..

have fun

Thank you sir! Seems the more reasearch I do the best places are only accessible with a bit of paddling. I might just try and pick up a good Kayak here soon and go that route, but I am still open to any suggestions others might have.

If you're looking to do some wading, you may want to try Sportsman Rd.
