Burn like a buzz bait. Use braid and set the hook where it makes their eyeballs cross

I'd like to know too. I was trying one in the grass last week, popping rod from 11 o'clock to 12 o'clock while reeling with a few random pauses. It makes the frog sort of bob up and down and walk a bit. I saw Faircloth fish one right in an Elite tourney he won last year. I got some hits, but none would hook up.

I cut the legs to my preference so I can walk it across the top, gives it a great action. White spro junior.

Vary retrieve speeds while making it stop and go.

I try to make them work like a frog really moves. Popping it pausing pop and pause. Stop it right on the edge of holes for just a second. I try to always keep my rod at about 10-11 at the highest. If your rod is at 12 you have no power on the hook set. 7- 71/2 flipping stick and a low gear ratio reel with 15-17 lb test is what i use. They are super fun and you can catch as many bull frogs as bass.

Frog? Or Toad? Toad is a soft plastic weedless buzz bait. Frogs are typically more of a Pop R' type bait.

With Hollow belly frogs I try to sneak it slowly with the little side to side action over any visible cover. For frogs with kicking legs I just keep a slow steady retrieve near or through cover. I use a medium heavy 7 foot rod with 65lb braid exclusively for frogs. KVD hollow belly and Gambler Buzzin' Cane Toad are good choices.

Spro popping frog in pads and a spro walking frog in other types of grass. I start out with a fast retrieve and then slow it down and find what the fish want. I use a 7'3" or 7'6" H or XH with 50lb or65lb braid longer rod helps with casting distance and hook sets on long cast plus the added leverage allows u to move more line with less work

Depends what frog, the action, but always seems to be faster than you think or slower than you think works!

Don't set hook on the fish until you feel tension, then set it hard.

I use ribbits, its my go to bait, i bury the hooks right under the legs and dont show the hook, bring the bait to the top of the water and keep a steady reel where you can see bubbles as you reel in, if a fish goes for it tilt the rod down..then set the hook, good luck

I like the smaller (2") floating frogs made by H2O (Academy) and Booyah. These smaller frogs have lighter hooks which helps penetration, and I bend them up slightly off the body to help hook-ups. I cut a few strands off each leg to help it "walk". Works best with the rod pointed down at the water and twitched on slack line - similar to a spook.
In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.
