If anyone knows Squaw Creek they know the channel cat fishing is awsume. But does anyone know when would be the best time for trying to catch some Monster Yellows there? The water temp is rising quickly. Probably already in the 85-90deg. range. I fish it reguarly but have never targeted Yellows. Any tips would be certainaly welcome. Line size is a guess for me also.I use 20lb. on pretty heavy Spinning rods as it is will this be heavy enough with the right drag? Lots and lots of stumps and stuff so would something I can horse them some work better? Thanks all you fishing gurus.

Only have fished it with mr.whiskars and wore te channels out, but braid should hold up better with all the brush an stuff should resist abrasion

Setup just before sunset. Main Line 30#, still might cut like butter against a stump. Three way swivel. 24" sinker drop. 14"drop of at least 40# to the hook. Live Bait!

Most of your big flatheads are on spawn right now. There will be a few that can't find stucture though.
