Thinking of heading to Lavon this week or later this weekend for the first time. Does the Lavonia ramp still have plenty of water?

Also, is the dam a good place to try first thing in the morning? And is the east side or west side of the dam the best place to fish.

Thanks for the help.

I launched out of there last weekend and it was fine. I have a 17' boat and I saw quite a few trailers after I got back. It also poured yesterday, so I would assume that it is still fine. I fished only the dam last Saturday and caught one good one and several smaller ones (4 total keepers). I had to down-size baits to get bit, but again this was last weekend. I was getting bit from 4-8'. Hope this helps.

I've always had better luck fishing main lake points with tx rigs.

With the lake ~8ft low, the Lavonia ramps are still fine. Most likely the courtesy docks are dry though. I launch from East Fork and both courtesy docks are out of the water.

The dam is good place to start as long as the rec boats aren't out. Main lake points and secondary points are also productive right now.

I agree with bogey to down-size your bait and will add to slow down. The lake has definitely been in post-spawn the last few weeks, and the bite can be a bit tough.

Thanks guys! That helps alot. I may start at the dam and if it's not working after a while, try some main lake points.
