Somebody fill me in.

I just got Merc, 250 sx on the Phoenix I bought, been running a rice burner on the other boat I just sold

I went to buy oil at Walmart in Jasper, keep my boat at Rayburn, havent had a Merc in a long time.

Walmart in Jasper has two kinds of Quicksilver as I recall the Reg and Synthitic Blend. I buy Quicksilver Synthitic Blend. Seem like thats what I ran in the last 250 Optimax I had few years back.

A few days later I'm at Academy, decided to buy more oil, they didnt have Synthitic blend, only Reg Quicksilver, Premium Plus and Direct Injection which was 40 bucks a jug.

I looked at the Merc website and didnt see Synthitic Blend, only the three kinds they had at Academy.

Is Synthitic blend and premium plus the same or did they change something or what. I may go ahead and run the direct injection, but they didnt have that at Walmart as I recall and never seen it before.

Thanks, Billy

Hey Billy the 250xs motor runs the DFI oil. I know its more expensive, but it will burn cleaner and wont foul out those REAL expensive plugs.

ddantidwell, that's kinda what I came up with. I've been running a Yamaha and didn't notice the DFI oil, thought the synthetic blend was top of the line. guess I need to change up when I run though the blend. Thanks Billy

WalMart Quicksilver "Synthetic" is the same as Premium Plus purchased everywhere else (its their attempt to brand). If you read the labels on the back, both will say that they are for DIrect Fuel Injected (DFI) engines - you are good with either one. Just stay away from Quicksilver Premium or any other off label oil. Quicksilver is the same as Mercury.
